Izzy's first outing down to the water at Cama Beach State ParkWe spent the week prior to Labor Day Weekend on
Camano Island at
Cama Beach State Park. It was the celebration of my parent's 40
th Anniversary and a chance to spend some time away with the family. My mom & dad, sisters, Gerald, Izzy, and I spent Tuesday - Friday together. For anyone interested in a camping experience without the camping - you should check this out. This property used to be a resort in the 30's and 40's and quite a destination. Over the years it's been owned and managed by various families and finally became a park a few years ago. The cabins are fully furnished, but you have to bring your own supplies - food, linens for the beds, towels, etc., etc. So it's kind of like you're camping, but in a cabin! My parents took care of most of the details for all of us, so we just got to show up and enjoy ourselves! Thanks Mom & Dad - and congratulations on 40 years of marriage. It's something Gerald and I aspire to!
After we returned from
Camano Island, we still had 3 days before it was time to return to work. Since it was a pretty rainy weekend, we tried to do a fun activity with Izzy each day. Saturday we went to the Everett Imagine Children's Museum, Sunday we went to the play area at
Alderwood Mall, and Monday we headed to the Seattle Aquarium. It was a really nice few days and a much needed family weekend. It was really great.
