Sebastian's Bday Party

We attended our friends Chris & Pauline's son's 1st birthday party at Fox Hollow Family Farm in Issaquah. It was a blast - and such an ideal location for a kids birthday party! Check out the fun we had:

Izzy LOVED driving the tractor - she even picked up passengers!

Izzy's pony ride.

Petting the animals

Riding the "roller coaster" !

Visiting with friends - Mitch, Khaisy, and Sienna.

Lake Quinault - Day 2 Sunset

After a beautiful day, we watched the sun set behind the Olympic Mountains - it was a beautiful site with the water of Lake Quinault in the foreground. It was Izzy's first chance to sit and watch the sun set and it was a great memory!

Back in our room - getting ready for bed - Izzy rocked out listening to Gerald's iPod

Lake Quinault - Day 2 Lunchtime

We headed out to the coast for lunch at Kalaloch Lodge. It was actually sunny at the coast (sorry Dad!) so we took the chance to play in the sand, run from the waves, and enjoy the beautiful scenery...

waiting for lunch...

hey ... look what's down there!

let's go to the beach!

Lake Quinault - Day 2 AM

After breakfast we headed over to the Rain Forest Nature Trail that was around the corner from the lodge. It was a 1/2 mile loop, so Izzy could walk it. We took our time and really enjoyed exploring nature with Izzy for the first time. There were tall trees, rushing waters, and banana slugs all around!

Ready to go!

Look -- it's a slug!

That's a pretty tall tree!

Lake Quinault - Day 1

We headed over to Lake Quinault Lodge the week after Labor Day for our first family vacation. We've been away with others, but never just the 3 of us so it was great to get away. Since we have a lot of photos, I'll break-up the posts so that they don't get too long. Here's our first evening after we arrived:

Izzy checking out the room & the view:

After getting settled, we walked down to the lake so throw some rocks in the water and take a few photos. It was a bit cloudy and we got a few showers, but it wasn't overly cold. You just never know this time of year, but we pretty much lucked out with the weather for our stay!

We walked up to the main lodge to make dinner reservations and explore a bit. Just as we arrived up to the lodge it stared to rain so we sat outside under an umbrella and Izzy found a dry spot under a table ;-)
We had a fabulous dinner and headed to bed early - we had a fun-filled day ahead of us the next day!
