Family Fun

Gerald was on vacation from work for the past several days so we took the opportunity to get out to do some fun activities with Izzy.  On Monday we went to the Pacific Science Center and on Tuesday we went to the Woodland Park Zoo!

Pacific Science Center:
lifting weights
looking at blood cells through the microscope (Marie - this one's for you!)
Rocket simulator - she was terrified
petting cockroaches (yuck!)
Butterfly exhibit
lunch time for the butterflies!
G & Izzy ... she looks like she has goose bumps!
Mommy & Izzy by the fountains (they were empty that day)
Woodland Park Zoo:

Dinosaur exhibit at the Zoo

Izzy was terrified of the dinosaurs - especially when she thought T Rex would eat her dad!

Finally - she liked the dinosaurs!

The Grizzly Bears were out to play

Kristi Wedding Reception

Kristi & Mike got married in Jamaica in July, so we had a wedding reception for them last weekend.  More photos will be coming, but here are a few cute ones that have been posted by friends who attended the reception...
Izzy and her buddy Jake were feeling photogenic

As a matter of fact ... they had control of Rosa's camera and took turns photographing each other!
A Jake photo of Izzy (she has blueberries in her teeth!!)

Park Fun

Izzy & Dima played at the park a few weeks ago - they had so much fun!

School's out for summer!

My last day at Sellen was on August 5th and I was able to take 3 weeks off from work before starting at my new job at Eddie Bauer on August 29th!  I've been making the most of it - projects around the house, relaxing, time with the family, etc.  Here are a few fun photos from our activities so far...

Dentist:
Izzy had a dental cleaning - she did so well... she got xrays and had an entire cleaning in the big girl chair all by herself!
 Country Village:
haircut
train ride

Making Ice Cream:
Izzy helped make the peach ice cream ... yum!

Hi-Yu Parade

Izzy, Heather & I went to West Seattle for the annual Hi-Yu Parade in late July.  Izzy has attended 4 times (she was only 4 months old the first time she went!).  A few photos...

Indigo Girls Concert

Alecia treated me to the Indigo Girls concert at the Zoo a few weeks ago. It had been a couple of years since I saw them in concert and it was really fun to attend with someone who likes them as much as I do!  We both sang all of the songs!  Thanks Alecia - it was so fun!

Alecia relaxing

Jessie & Alecia can't wait for the show to begin!

Amy & Emily rocking out ... did I mention we were about 15 rows back from the front!

New Room & Big Girl Bed

It was time for Izzy to move up to a big girl bed, so we figured we'd bite the bullet and transform the guest room into her big girl room.  We still need to find artwork for the walls, but she's loving her new room!  I can't believe how grown up she is!

Organized closet - complete with hanging space for dresses and storage containers full of toys!

Sitting area with a new bookcase (notice the American Girl doll - I couldn't resist!)

Bed, dresser, & step stool

Dresser & bookshelf - she's dancing for you in the photo!

More Swimming Fun!

Izzy is loving her swimming lessons - this time around she has a new instructor, Kelly, who is great with the kids.  She's progressed so far since her first session:  she's blowing bubbles, bobbing underwater like crazy, learning different strokes and kicks, and even diving under water to retrieve objects.  She hasn't quite mastered the back float yet, but it's coming!

First Harvest

Gerald planted vegetables this year and today he harvested his first veggies - lettuce & bok choy!  He's so proud of himself ... and we'll be having a wonderful meal tonight!!

Swimming Lessons

The new Lynnwood Recreation Center is finally open!  We got Izzy into swimming lessons and she's loving it.  She loves the "beach splash pool" too!!

Balance Bike

We got Izzy a balance bike to help her learn to ride a bike.  She's getting really good at it already!  (don't worry - she normally wears a helmet!)
