Visit to Bremerton

We headed over to Bremerton for a short visit on August 29th - we drove there and took the ferry home. It was a nice visit - short and sweet but great to see Gerald's folks and Auntie Lourdes. At the Bainbridge Ferry dock we got ice cream sandwiches - believe it or not it was Izzy's first. She was tentative about it at first, but she ended up loving it - of course... two of her favorite things were included: ice cream and chocolate!

The Green Sheep

Gerald, Izzy, Grandma, and I went down to Seattle Children's Theatre at Seattle Center this morning for a matinee performance of The Green Sheep -it's a play for toddlers based on the book Where is the Green Sheep? The audience sits on the floor in "the sheep pen" and the actors perform around the outside of the pen. It's short and sweet to keep the kids attention, but afterward they get to explore the pen, take photos, play the instruments that are featured during the show, and pet the Green Sheep! Here are a few photos from our morning...

Watering

Izzy helped Gerald with watering the plants in the back yard a couple of weeks ago - she LOVES to help water... I think she got that from my Mom!!

This is my favorite one:

Daddy's Job Site

I was working on a Habitat for Humanity project for work on the 14th, so Izzy got to visit Daddy's job site! The crew was placing concrete that Saturday, so there was a lot for her to see (from afar, of course!). According to Gerald, she shook all of the tradesman's hands and one of the trucks honked at her on the way out of the gate. She was all smiles recounting her time at Daddy's job site!

Kristi & Mike's Engagement Party

My sister Kristi got engaged on July 4th and her friends Jerrett & Rosa had an engagement party for them today. Here are photos of the fun BBQ party:

And at the end of the day, Izzy & Jake got a little crazy and chased each other all around the house and out on the deck - it was pretty funny!!

Playtime with Alex

Izzy's cousin Alex spent some time with us a couple of weeks ago - it was a cold and rainy summer day, so we watched a movie, played with trains, baked some cookies, and bounced on Izzy's Rody to get some energy out. Alex is such a good older cousin - he's very patient with Izzy and they were very good about taking turns. It was a fun day...

BBQ with Doug & Megan

Doug and Megan were in town from California so we had a gathering at Kristi's house - an afternoon BBQ! A few photos:

Mt Rainier Scenic Railway

Izzy, Grandma, Grandpa, and I took a road trip a few weeks ago up to Mt. Rainier to take a ride on the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railway since Izzy is obsessed with public transportation. It was an old fashioned steam train! Here are a few photos and a video from our trip:

The Mt. Rainier sign at the neighborhood store near the train depot.

While we waited for our train to arrive, we visited the historic Lutheran church on the property. Izzy and Grandpa even got a chance to ring the church bell! The train!!

Following our ride, we drove up to the Mt. Rainier look-out. Unfortunately it was foggy near the top so we couldn't really see the mountain, but Izzy got some ice cream before we headed home!!

It was a special day of memories! Thanks Mom & Dad for arranging it for us!
